So, more kielbasa and zucchini over pasta tonight. But I left out the beans and tomatoes, and replaced them with mushrooms, white wine, and zatar. It was tasty and summery yay.

Was chatting with [livejournal.com profile] dooneling today about how daily/weekly tasks sap my motivation for large projects. When I finish the small tasks that need doing (write a column, do the dishes, write a review, do some laundry), I feel that I want to be done for the day, and then relax. And the big projects -- the ones that are ostensibly big things that I think are either important and/or likely to be fun, such as books and albums and so forth -- the big projects don't get worked on. And this is problematic because while the daily tasks may be necessary for upkeep, and the weekly tasks are necessary to make sure I get paid, those really big projects tend to be things that have a higher probability of making me happier over the long term.

So I need to re-motivate myself. I'm posting this in public, to at least create the illusion of accountability, that it's time for me to devote more focus to bigger projects. The talented and generous [livejournal.com profile] outsidetheparty is helping me finally get the book towards an actual public release, and I'm soon buying some audio equipment so I can get my recording back up and running again.

Goals for September:
* Book release
* Resume writing more scraps for next book, at least one mini-chapter complete
* Start work on rap album, at least one song complete
