things that are good
Jun. 15th, 2010 07:02 pmToo much reflection of late, so I figure I'm overdue for a "good stuff" post.
*Reviews-a-plenty -- I had another book review in the USA Today, and had a spate of restaurant reviews in the Berkshire Eagle. Reviews remain my second-favorite thing to write (second only to humor), so I love that I keep getting more of them.
*Catching up -- Between a family reunion and the college reunion, I got to catch up recently with some far-away family members and a few old friends. It was lovely to be reminded that in spite of how much I despise talking on the phone with them, I actually enjoy the company of my family in person. Seeing friends was really lovely, and I enjoyed spending time with them, even if most of it was, as always, fleeting.
*Conversations -- But not all of it was fleeting! I got to have a really great late-night conversation with
abka about life in general, and a long philosophical discussion of religion and morality with
nescio17. For all my focus on board gaming, I think my favorite way to connect with friends is still long conversations at night.
*Charades -- That being said, last night was SO FUN OMG.
kassobruni hosted a little get together for
ellinor, and along with
winterborne,
shgb, and
shideem, we had an incredible charades game that was rejuvenatingly fun. Things we acted out included "Stranger in a Strange Land", "Intellectual Property", "Parappa the Rapper", and "Uruguay".
the_star_fish also attended, but did not play charades, although she did make time to guess "Baby Fish Mouth", which made me smile.
*Speaking of
the_star_fish -- she is still awesome, and she is just now home, so it is time to go make food and play games and generally enjoy living with someone awesome.
