Love and Hate
Jul. 19th, 2006 04:29 pmSaw Wordplay last night with
the_star_fish, and we both loved it. The interviews with certain celebrities make it almost a must-see film for some people. (
mryn, I'm looking at you. Your favorite traitor is in it.)
Something else you're bound to love is this week's newscast, which has new snazzy music and is one of the better episodes we've done.
I've seen and heard too much hate lately. And I know that the world is filled with hate, and that random people can sometimes be ignorant and hateful of entire groups. But I expect better from my friends and acquaintences. In the past month from people I know I've heard hate directed at: Jews, Muslims, Christians, Atheists, Mexicans, and Men. (I won't count the anti-liberal and anti-Republican rants as hate here, because they're not really up to the level of the others I've heard) Keeping Sturgeon's Law in mind, of course it's true that many people in each of these categories are assholes. Many people in every category are assholes (with the exception of the Non-Asshole category and similar)(and vacuously small categories). But hearing blanket hatred coming from people I know makes me despair.
That's why I suggest that you all listen to a short song by Kinky Friedman called "They Ain't Makin' Jews Like Jesus Anymore". If you go here and scroll down, there's a link to the song. As a bonus, if you live in Texas, you will soon have the opportunity to vote for this man as your governor. And that's something to love.
