How depressing can a humor columnist be? Also: Lex is still funny.

Because between hearing about the Arkansas Representative suggesting the death penalty for "rebellious children", and the Brutal shooting of a 14-year-old girl in Pakistan for blogging, I'm feeling there's a connected rant to be made that wants an audience. I sort of want to put this in the paper, but it's depressing stuff and my column is ostensibly humor, although I do get political now and then.

After that, I bet you could use some funny. Well, perhaps some of you remember that I used to co-produce lots of comedy with my old friend Lex Friedman. He now co-hosts a podcast, the latest episode of which has a special guest I believe will especially interest many of you. D and I listened to it over dinner, and it was pretty hilarious.
