I am supposed to have a new job doing weekly profile interviews for the Transcript. YAY!
The people I am supposed to interview have been completely unreachable by phone all week, although I left messages. BOO!
I already mentioned the WordXWord Festival, and last week's column was a recap of the event and also a parody of the Raven because Poe parodies are fun: Quoth the Seth: Read fer shore! YAY!
The past few weeks the news (especially political) has been making me very depressed, because things suck. BOO!
And this spurred me to write a more depressing column this week than I normally do. But that's what happens when I write about things that matter, and I feel that my point is well-made and will resonate with lots of people. For this reason, I encourage and entreat you, if you only read one of my columns this summer, read: The Death of Satire
YAY!
I realize the previous yay was ambiguous, and so need to specify the yay only applies to the execution of the column, and not the lamentable circumstances that required me to write it. BOO!
Even with the previous cheap boo, this entry has more ups than downs, because right now so does my life. YAY!
