That's A Rap
Jul. 17th, 2009 12:51 amSo, I'm back from Nerdapalooza. It was fairly awesome for anyone who enjoys nerdcore hip-hop, which is conveniently a category I happen to fall into. A lot of rappers were there, as well as a few other nerdy artists who did things like chiptunes, Megaman covers, Wizard rock, and even a group that rewired old NES controllers into musical instruments. Also, I did a lot of freestyling.
Now I'm back home, and as great as my trip was, the homecoming was even better. Awaiting me at home was my much-anticipated box of new board games. And also a
the_star_fish to play them with. After a brief RBIT show today at a local fundraiser, we drove down to Pittsfield to attend a poetry slam hosted by Taylor Mali himself, which was pretty awesome. Awesomeness was helped by the fact that I totally won the slam.
Anyway, in case you've missed my writing while I was away, two weeks ago was my slightly serious column about America's preposterous puritanical tendencies, and just last weekend was a much funnier column that is a sequel to a column I wrote a while back. (Next week will be a Nerdapalooza travelogue.)
