Will Work For Food

I may as well wear a sign that says that. I've got a surprising number of performances in April, most of which will pay me nothing more than free food. Two weekends ago, I had a few comedy open mics, as mentioned, as well as an improv dinner show. What you didn't know is that rather than taking a car to the dinner show, I took the failboat. But hey, at least I got a column out of it, which is what I kept telling myself while it was happening.

This past weekend I went to RI for stand-up comedy and a popularity contest. Since winners were decided by audience vote, and the audience consisted mostly of people who performers had convinced to attend, those of us travelling from MA didn't win. Alas. This week, I think there's a poetry slam at the Alley on Thursday, and Red Room (a variety show) at the Main Street Stage on Saturday.

Oh right, taxes. I should go attend to that.
