Yes We (throw away lots of) Can
Oct. 22nd, 2008 01:33 pmAfter tossing the bull liver terrine two nights ago, I decided to go through my pantry yesterday and toss any other suspect food. We found cans with sell by dates going all the way back to 2002, and threw them all out, so there's now a lot more room in the pantry. Irritatingly, I still don't feel well.
Also:
* Manufacturers who do not put a date on their canned food are evil people. I ended up throwing out a dozen cans with no date because I couldn't remember acquiring them. To be fair, some of the cans were produced by a company that disappeared in 2006, so they were probably not good for much longer anyway.
* When making a call to a person from Freecycle today, I decided to put on my fake British accent. I'm not sure why. When she comes to pick up her free stuff later thisafternoon, I haven't decided whether I should fake the accent again, or just skip it and feign ignorance if she asks what's up.
