So, I've been trying to get back into the freelance game, and managed to write an article that was tenatively accepted. The good news? My article on Harry Potter was accepted, and is now on the front page of Cracked.com. The bad news? They gave it the heaviest editing I've ever seen, such that in the two page article, literally nothing on the second page was mine. Thus my name is not alone on the byline, because my writing ended up being slightly less than half of the version of the article that appears. Nonetheless, it's entertaining, so even if you only read my page (reasons 6, 5, and 4), you might want to check out the article.
sigerson and
sen_no_ongaku are awesome, as was their wedding, but you wouldn't necessarily know it from what I wrote for last Friday's column.
There's a giant nerd music fest coming up in late September. Sadly, it's in California, which is highly inconvenient for me. But it sounds really cool, and will feature dozens of bands ranging from MC Frontalot to Freezepop. So, er, anyone else want to go to Nerdapalooza?
