Thank You for Making Unreasonable Goals
Apr. 19th, 2006 01:01 pmSaw "Thank You For Smoking" at Images last night with
the_star_fish, and I highly recommend that you see it. Especially you local folks who are so close to Images, you have no excuse to deprive yourself of this fun film. Almost makes me want to go back and re-read the book.
Speaking of books, I think the Weemstown book sale is this weekend, if I recall correctly. I must attend, and purchase many books to supplement my personal lending library. I just went to the bank today, so I hope to go to town and then go to town.
And finally,
nescio17 alerted me to a lovely new song by Jonathan Coulton called "Code Monkey". Going to grab that, and then a few other songs, finally prompted me to donate a dollar to the man through Paypal, because hey, he's earned it. One day, when I'm not in the middle of giant projects (including both those I contract for, and those I'm still working on myself), I'm going to start my own geeky music career. Actually, let me make myself more accountable by declaring a triad of goals for 2006:
1) Finish book I've contracted to do (well, this one I sort of have to, but still)
2) Try to find a publisher or agent for the other book, and failing that, vow to begin self-publishing in 2007.
3) Release a CD of my music (likely through CafePress or Lulu).
So, like NaNoWriMo last year, these are the things I absolutely MUST DO before the year ends. Mock me if I fail, or appear close to failing come the last few months of the year. This is my destiny.
