In all honesty, I have to say, this has not been a great month at work.

Today I was in in at noon and prepared to stay all day because I smelled nothing upon my arrival, but a wave of paint fumes appeared at 2pm. I stayed anyway, and acquired a splitting headache by evening, and all of a sudden my job has gone from non-onerous to something that is causing me depressive insomnia (the inability to go to sleep for fear of waking up and having to deal with the next day). If [livejournal.com profile] jo_ellen or [livejournal.com profile] sanj are on your friends list, you probably already know the background. But basically, I can't breathe at work, my bosses are insisting it's incumbent upon me to be there anyway (never mind the fact that I can be thrice as productive by telecommuting), and things are swiftly purchasing some wicker, weaving it into a handbasket with wheels, and driving it along a road paved with good intentions.

Sometimes I think my complaining would be more effective if I just used normal words instead of playing wordsmith with all of them, but when you have a word hammer, words all look like nails. Ah well. Anyway, Boston weekend was very fun; I got to eat a delicious dinner at Fire and Ice with [livejournal.com profile] k_ericson, [livejournal.com profile] cute_fuzzy_evil, [livejournal.com profile] ethicsgradient, [livejournal.com profile] mryn, [livejournal.com profile] wellstar, [livejournal.com profile] saraheeyore, and Chalida. Welleeyore and Sarahstar, in spite of being fine individuals, were not content to sit around and watch me eat forever. But I thank the rest of you for indulging me in my indulgence (I tend to go up for multiple servings at buffets). Gaming happened post-dinner at Chalida's, [livejournal.com profile] ppaladin and [livejournal.com profile] shellaby dropped by, and fun was had by all.

The following day Evilgradient, Cute_fuzzy_ethics, and I went to a Magic tournament as a team, and did fairly well. There we saw the mighty team of [livejournal.com profile] shgb, [livejournal.com profile] the_scrivener, and [livejournal.com profile] winterborne, who drove me home. All in all, it was a delightful weekend, marred only by being bordered by weekdays that require me to show up at a noxious office.
