Some of you are probably sick of hearing about all the fights I've been having with [livejournal.com profile] the_star_fish, but at least you won't have to hear about them any more. This morning when she woke me up (because she insists that I sleep and wake according to *her* schedule), I just had enough and couldn't take it anymore.

I don't know why I thought this time would be different. We have nothing in common, which I should have been able to guess from the fact that she has no sense of humor, and never laughs at any of my jokes. I'm not sure she's ever even tried to make a joke. She takes things so damn seriously that she got offended if I suggested sitting around the house in pajamas before bedtime.

Is it too much to ask to be able to live my own life a little? I mean, I know we were dating and all, but does she have to invite herself along to everything I do? It'd be nice if once a month or so, I just got to go hang out with my friends without hearing her complain that if I loved her I'd be taking her out instead. And I'm really sick of being dragged to knitting circles and other events I don't care about simply because "that's what boyfriends are supposed to do."

Also, I know I'm not known for my health and culinary variety, but compared to her I'm Emeril Lagasse. I mean, I'm all for the modern woman's place not being in the kitchen, and I'm happy to do my fair share of cooking, but she should be able to make *something* aside from boxed mac and cheese. Every time it's her turn to cook, it's either food from a box, or take-out.

Which brings me to my other point: She goes through money like it's water, and I'm starting to think she dated me just for my money. She's never content just sitting at home and playing a board game, and insists on going out somewhere fancy nearly every night. All I ask is that maybe once a week we stay in and try a board game, but apparently that's "too nerdy" and she just wants to put on lots of makeup and go out on the town.

Well, enough of that. She's leaving for Boston tomorrow on a previously planned trip, and when she gets back, we'll be taking some time off. So it goes.

I suppose today is as good a day as any to tell you that I hate reading your posts and I never want to be online friends with you ever again.

Don't worry, though, it's not just this post that inspired me to comment. It's also what Google Autopilot had to say about our recent email exchange. (See: Manage relationships)

Wow, you know, she's mentioned only in positive terms in entries I can see here, so I had no idea anything was wrong. Also, I'm very much amused that "compared to her [you're] Emeril Lagasse." I never thought I'd hear that from the person who gave himself scurvy from...umm..."health and culinary variety". It sounds like you made the right choice, though. Hope you're feeling okay.

Oh, man, I realized a few hours later how totally gullible I am. I don't know enough about either of you to have seen how ridiculous this would be, but there's no way you'd have announced on April 1st if it were real.

On the one hand, I'm really sorry to hear about this particularly hard time in your personal life.

On the other hand, I might as well capitalize on this - will you tell her that I love putting on lots of make-up and going out on the town, and tell her to join me?

Well, sad as it may be, this is probably be for the best. Without her always imposing on your time, you should be able to hunker down, get a real job, and get back on your feet again. In down times, people are supposed to dress up a little more, so you should even get to break out your suits again -- I know you will be more comfortable in a less casual environment!

Really, the last straw for me was when he came home with $500 worth of Pierre Cardin silk ties ...

Well, what a fantastic opportunity to try on her makeup while she's out of town! I know you can use it to explore the crossdressing side of you that always adored heels.
