always already retirement

I'm once again in my lull season as far as freelancing goes, notwithstanding the occasional inquiry from a would-be client I have no desire to work for (today's episode: high school student wanted me to write a speech for his national speech competition, which of course is supposed to be written by the student).  Previous years had me worrying a lot about a lack of work, but this time I'm just taking it as time off and trying to enjoy it, since it's not like I take a summer vacation (or, really, any vacations). World still terrible, my tiny bubble still good if somewhat lonely. Once warmer weather rolls around, I should make more of an effort to catch up with friends who don't live on my street.
