Popes and PAX
Mar. 26th, 2013 03:56 amFirst thing's first: My column from last week is a quick read and big fun, so you should take my Pope Quiz.
All done? Well, then let me tell you that I am just back from a weekend at PAX East, showing off our new hip-hop deckbuilding game, Legend of the Cipher. The convention was a qualified success. Our booth was in the ass corner of the tabletop section, and consequently we saw a lot less traffic than we otherwise might have. That being said, nearly every one of the many dozens of people who sat down to demo the game really enjoyed it. The development process took a while and went through many mediocre iterations, but I think the final product is solidly fun to play, and it was gratifying to have many of the folks trying the game at the convention express their agreement with that assessment, and genuine delight at the game. Also, I got to blather about game design (and Wittgenstein) on a panel, so that was fun.
This Thursday at the Parlor (7ish) is the first poetry slam in North Adams in a while, so I'll likely be going to that. Haven't yet decided whether to do my oft-performed crowd-pleasing poem about books, or my newish never-performed unpleasant poem which may be the most dark and twisted thing I've ever written. Maybe both?
