Ups and Downs

Good: Finished and turned in my half-draft on time
Bad: Still a half-book left to write, and I've used all the good ideas
Good: Went to an open mic last night
Bad: Very few non-comedian audience members
Good: Met a fellow rapper who can actually freestyle
Bad: He's only in town for a few more months
Good: Went to hang out with his rapper friends
Bad: Most of them are not really at our level
Good: Got to freestyle with two other skilled people tonight
Bad: Eventually overcome by the smoke in the room and came home feeling ill.
Good: This week's column is fun, and it's about Pepper Spray
Bad: Between UC Davis and Wal-Mart, seriously, I think society has gone spray crazy.
Good: Apparently I won't run out of column topics any time soon
Bad: That's not worth it if we have a world of Censored Internet, Racist churches, and America has officially been placed under Permanent Martial Law
Good: I still have a good life, and good people
Bad: Some of those good people are having a not-good timespan
