Eat, drink, and be merry...
Nov. 16th, 2011 04:43 amToday's Something Positive touched on some themes I've been thinking about a lot recently.
Homecoming was nice; got to catch up with some old college friends, who many of you know or are. There was indeed eating (at many tasty restaurants), drinking (
ethicsgradient brought a bottle of aged single-malt scotch), and merriment (we played a big game of Train of Thought that resulted in lots of laughing all around).
And I got to catch up with a few people for quiet conversation -- tough for me to do with many people who I only see at large gatherings, because how do you talk to someone individually when you only see them in large groups? But even if it's only 15 minutes here and 30 minutes there, I enjoyed catching up with people and learning about how to append -waffle to vulgar words, what buildings are officially ugly, and when my rational grasp of facts is irrelevant.
Also, I got to show
ppaladin all my new deck-building games. And then the week continued with me catching up with non-college friends, and eating more tasty food, and it even makes up for the fact that most of my afternoon was spent on hold and/or in phone-maze-hell.
Now if only I could get some work done on my book draft, or
the_star_fish's job could suck less, things would really be swell.
