* I think of myself as a relatively independent person, but man, when
the_star_fish goes away for a week I sure miss her a lot.
* Speaking of things I do while home alone, I am somewhat irked that Diablo III appears to require an always online connection even to play single player. I couldn't get my beta profile to upload to their site. Last night I randomly stopped being able to connect to Battle.net. Not sanguine about single-player games that I can't just run on my own damn computer. Conversely, the game looks cool and I want to play. Decisions decisions.
* Last week's column was about saving money. This week's column is about August.
* Speaking of saving money, I realized today that one reason I live on less than most people is that I bet many people buy new clothes on a regular basis, rather than wearing mostly clothes they've had since college supplemented by free T-shirts, until you can fit a sandwich through the holes that sprout.
* Free comedy open mic this Friday at the Red Herring. 5 points if you want to attend; 10 points if you also give me a ride.
* Speaking of transportation, there's a poetry slam next week in Pittsfield, but it's spread over 3-4 days if I make all the finals, which is a giant PITA. Also, I haven't written anything new or performed since April, so it's quite possible I wouldn't even make it to finals (also a PITA).
* It's a good thing I like hummus, because life seems to offer plenty of PITA.
* Speaking of food, I really need to go eat some now.
