From the desk of...

We spent most of today installing a new desk in my office. This is an upgrade from the large table (standard event table, folding metal bottom, brown woodgrain-covered particle board top) that I had been using as a desk for the past decade. Still getting used to it. But hey, desk.

Today's column is one of a type I write every few years, an advice column I like to call Dr. Manners. Previous installment here.

I am typing this all for the second time, because when I went to search for the previous installment, I searched in this browser window, thus destroying my entry in progress. Clever.

the_star_fish has started playing Kingdom of Loathing again, after a long hiatus. And so on her behalf, I ask those of you who once played long ago and might have been in our clan (Purple Valley Procrastinators) -- did you happen to take a Tiny Plastic Sword from the stash and leave it sitting in your inventory? This would have been two or three years ago, but hey, maybe today you felt like logging back in, looking at all the new content, and checking to see if you had a tiny plastic sword hanging about.

If I post this right now, I could get to bed before 5, which would be a record this week.
