* If you are following the Arizona anti-immigration law at all, perhaps you will appreciate my column this week about a new Massachusetts law.

* The book I finally finished my review of is called "Merchants of Doubt". I'll post a link once the review goes up. It is a complex and fascinatingly depressing tale.

* [livejournal.com profile] the_star_fish is awesome and pointed me to f.lux, a program that automatically adjusts the brightness of your monitor slightly to be less at night; hopefully this will help with the insomnia.

* Most awesome thing she said today: "Why is your shirt like that? The way you are wearing it is giving you a penalty to your armor class. And charisma."

* Probably had dungeon-crawling stats on the brain because we have now both started playing World of Warcraft... the boardgame. Downside: Takes longer to set up and put away than actual WoW. Upside: Playing in person, and not a game to which I am going to become addicted and play for hours every single day. Granted, I'm addicted to board games in general, and try to play them for hours every single day, but it seems a shame to play just one when there are so many good ones.

* Speaking of many good games, the Humble Indie Bundle is a pay-what-you-like package of 5 independently-developed computer games including World of Goo, with proceeds going directly to the developers, and two worthwhile charities (EFF and Child's Play). I coughed up a few bucks for it. Apparently it's limited time, so you may want to do the same.

* The weather here the past week or two has been very New England, by which I mean, crazily fluctuating. Wonder if it's related to weird global climate change, which would be a nice segue to the book I mention near the beginning of this post if you had no life and just wanted to read my post over and over again.

This coming Friday at 8pm, RBIT will be having an improv show at Main St. Stage. If you like Whose Line Is It Anyway, you'll love seeing that kind of thing live. You won't love paying $10 at the door for a ticket, but a movie costs just as much and isn't as memorable. (Although I imagine many of you will want to see Iron Man 2. But aside from that, nothing's really playing.)

While I know I've complained in the past about restaurant owners being uncooperative and hard to interview, maybe I just had a bad streak long ago. The past few people I've interviewed have been helpful, friendly, and generally useful about providing information about their restaurants, their backgrounds, and their philosophies. Sure makes the interview (and the article) a lot more pleasant to do.

Logistically, I sadly remain a complete failure. I somehow missed a days-old email and phonecall from a frennamine I was supposed to get together with yesterday, and thus he made time in his busy schedule for no other reason than for me to be a doofus. And I had been pretty eager to get together, too.
