Contests for YOU: Time for Bad Writing!
Mar. 26th, 2009 12:55 amI have not been able to write anything this past week. I am sure this is unrelated to the fact that my manuscript was rejected and I have been looking at all sorts of depressing self-publishing info.
Anyway, when you can't write something good, write something bad! Deadlines are fast approaching for two wonderful bad writing contests that are free to enter:
1) The Wergle Flomp Poetry Contest: Based on mocking the fact that scam sites like Poetry.com will accept any poem and declare it a finalist, this contest asks you to to write the worst poem you possibly can, submit it to a scam site for accolades, and then enter it in this non-scam contest by March 31st.
2) The ever-popular Bulwer-Lytton bad fiction contest, in honor of the immortal opening line that begins "It was a dark and stormy night...". You need only write an opening line that is a crime against literature, and submit it before April 15th.
Oh, and if you only saw the first half of my Disappointing Video Game Sequels article, the second half is now linked from it.
