Maximizers vs. Satisficers

I know a few of you are already interested in this sort of thing (
sylvantechie, I'm looking at you). For the rest of you -- basically, it's what is sounds like. Maximizers need to choose the option of maximum benefit, while satisficers merely require something good enough. We're all combinations of both, of course, but I still find it worth thinking about. Especially when it appears that in most situations, maximizers do objectively better (since they are focused on optimization), while satisficers are happier (since they know they got something good enough and aren't filled with regret over potential sub-optimalities).
I think this dichotomy actually covers my life and board gaming addiction quite well. Lengthy diatribe available in person.
