Mostly good
Nov. 5th, 2007 09:11 pmWell, I'm back from the book tour. Speaking at the school went well, even if almost every single question was about vampires. The first booksigning was a great success, which helps make up for the fact that the second one (during a torrential windy rainstorm) was a compleat failure. But the live-interview-with-audience on Sunday went very well, and all in all, I'd account it a successful weekend.
Seriously, though, kids love vampires. I presented roughly a dozen profiles to a few different classes of fourth-graders, and all they want to know is, "Are you related to a vampire?" "Are vampires real?" The latter question I answered with a mathematical proof that I remembered reading when I was roughly that age, based on vampires converting others and powers of 2. (See also: the Angel episode "DisHarmony") "Okay, I know you said they can't be real, but if they were real, could they, um, be real?"
Anyway, speaking of good conversation, check out my column from last Friday. Where I try not to be upset over the fact that when my column mentions anagrams of "Senator Larry Craig", they have abbreviated senator as "Sen.", thus making the anagrams somewhat less anagrammy.
