Took the day off yesterday, which was a fine decision. Attended two lectures, one on empathy with fictional characters and why it can't exist, given by a professor from Manchester with a charming accent, and one on the Free Software/GNU project, given by founder Richard Stallman, who was an idealist (not meaning optimist, but meaning one who believes strongly in his ideals, perhaps better described as idealogue, but still with some idealism in there too) in the sort of manner that makes him geekishly charming to those who are pre-disposed to agree with him, but a bit risible and spiky towards those who might be on the opposite end of the political spectrum. I also had dinner with
the_star_fish, and read a book, and wrote enough NaNoWriMo that I'm only 100 words behind my goal going into today.
In short, Thursday was so good that I'm taking the rest of the Thursdays in November off.
