More Rejections? How Novel.
Sep. 16th, 2005 02:28 pmSo, two rain-soaked envelopes arrived in my mailbox yesterday, bearing my address in my own handwriting. As I feared, they were form-letter rejections from the next two of the five agents I had contacted by postal mail instead of email. Slightly more disheartening than usual since one of them was the agent I had until yesterday considered my best bet. There are still two postal queries outstanding, but I'm not holding my breath. Anyone have an agent-in-a-box?
Meanwhile, I've decided to take some of November off and write a novel. I've known about National Novel Writing Month for a few years, but since I've been trying to write and sell this other book, I figured I'd wait. Well, this other book doesn't seem to be getting anywhere. And as Rabbi Hillel once said, "Nu?" Also, "If not now, when?" Sure, I don't technically have any ideas whatsoever, nor even any skill at long-form writing, but I'm taking a crash-course on novel-writing with
squirrelhaven over the next few weeks. And by announcing my intentions here, I'm hoping to create some accountability so I can't wimp out come November.
