Morning Brain; Gaming Addiction
Aug. 29th, 2005 04:10 pmRoundabouts when I was waking up, I was half thinking about work, and half thinking about video games. Just then, some construction machinery began loudly beeping outside my window. My first thought was: I should devote my entire brain to thinking about the construction outside, that way it will get done twice as fast.
In other news, this weekend I briefly did a few things that I don't normally do, but found that I just craved games.
squirrelhaven and
outsidetheparty were kind enough to host a lovely gather, and I even got in the pool, but once the pool games ended I decided to leave the water and retreated to a card game. Then late last night I happened across a random party where I knew one of the guys, and stopped in to have a drink and try to socialize like an actual person, but after a few minutes I was growing increasingly restless and returned home to the comfort of more games.
Speaking of which -
sylvantechie's copy of San Juan has somehow ended up in my hands again. Anyone want to come over and play it tonight before he reclaims it? It's an elegant card game for 2-4 players based on the complex (and much less random) board game Puerto Rico. (And given that this is the second time in two weeks I've ended up with it due to playing it after the owner's bedtime, maybe I should go buy my own copy one of these days. But meanwhile, there's one on my table...)
