I don't think I've ever liked Valentine's Day, and this year was certainly no exception. As usual, I was alone. As usual, I managed a decent column out of it (ETA: Which has a cute piece of philosophy humor, for the few of you who enjoy that sort of thing). And not as usual, I fried 5 dozen burritos that morning and carried them all to work on a giant tray. This was somewhat entertaining, as I received numerous strange looks, and one sarcastic comment of "Breakfast in bed?" But I made clear to my co-workers that my burritos were unrelated to V-day, and merely a random Monday repayment of long-accumulated food karma.
Also, I recently made my last post ever on my WSO blog. In the next few weeks, I'll have to figure out how to put a blog on the Rising Pun. And I guess we're now halfway through February and I still haven't done any of the publicity I promised myself I'd do for my book. And no, saying "Buy my book" in my LJ doesn't count. But hopefully I'll do something soon. Regardless, March shall be the month of get back to work on the other books.
And lest you think I've done nothing aside from my day job, I've also played video games. No, I mean I've also had some good general social time with friends, cards and conversation, tasty food, saw Steven Wright perform in Albany, saw a few good movies, and am working on another song with Lex. So life's not bad, which as those of you familiar with my pessimism know, means life's pretty good.
ETA: Promised an old classmate of mine in Boston I'd ask - anyone know of any open web-monkey jobs in the area?
