So, work was sponsoring an event this evening, which conflicted with my gaming group. Yesterday afternoon, I decided to skip the work-fete and go to gaming group. Last night, I became convinced that maybe I should go to the work thing as it could be important. Thismorning, I was completely convinced that I had to be at the work thing, and decided I'd go. Just now, I was told that it may not be so important after all.

There's something about work-politics that I hate. Actually, make that everything. From the inter-office sniping and bickering, to the lack of communication to afar, to the inevitable decisions that strike me as inefficient, to the failure to give people the tools and information necessary to do their jobs, the politics of the office irk me.

My job? I can do that, no problem. Hell, I'm even good at it. And I like most of the people I work with. It's just the little inefficiencies that bug me.

I've conversed with [livejournal.com profile] sylvantechie about social drinking as it relates to office politics, and I was slightly surprised but very disappointed in what he confirmed. I'm just not cut out to deal with all this business hobnobbing and inter-office politics nonsense.

Yes, I know, I can hear you now, "Welcome, young Padawan, to corporate life." I just don't see why it should be this way.
